Why Li2CO3 decomposed at a lower temperature whereas Na2CO3 at higher temperature?

covalent character in ionic bond
In ionic bond the positive ion pulls the electron density of the anion towards itself and brings about polarisation of the anion. This causes the development of some covalent character in ionic bond.

Fajan's Rules
(i) Higher the charge density of cation greater is its polarizing power.
(ii) Larger the size of anion greater will be its polarizability.

lithium carbonate and sodium carbonate

sodium chloride with a low positive charge (+1), a fairly large cation more ionic(acc to favan rule)=>greater thermal stability

Lithium ion is smaller
Lithium carbonate is more covalent =>its thermal stability is less => it decompose at a lower temperature
