in absence of light,plants develop a yellowish pigment etiolin intead of chlorophyll.d leaves acquire a yellowish color n t stems become pale,thin n long.this is known as d etiolation of plants. Idea

in the chapter photosynthesis.......hope in he second page...it is given that leaves turn yellow due to the degeneration of chlorophyll

etiolin all are rubish dont break your head with it
our teacher tild it happens when chlorophyll degenerate when starch is removed
