First, almond: it prevents platelet aggregation. Research found that eating nuts only once a week can reduce 1/4 risk of getting heart disease, especially eating almonds. You can pulverize it and put it into salad or dishes. In this way, dishes become more delicious and nutritive.

Second, pearl barley: it can reduce the cholesterol. It belongs to soluble fibers that accelerate the liver to discharge the cholesterol out of the body. You can directly stew it.

Third, black sesame: it prevents angiosclerosis. The unsaturated fatty acid in it can keep the elasticity of vessels and prevent arteriosclerosis. You can chew black sesames as their nutrients exist in the seeds.

Fourth, soybean: it can reduce the cholesterol. Soybean contains many essential amino-acids which promote the metabolism of the fat and cholesterol, suitable for vegetarians. You can soak them in warm water for 4 hours and then cook them. In this way,polysaccharides in them can be dissolved so as not to have flatulence.

Fifth, spinach: it prevents cardiovascular disease. As it contains much folic acid, it is more effective in preventing the heart disease than any other nutritional supplements. You can stir-fry spinaches quickly so that less folic acid loses.

Sixth, agaric: it had the function of anticoagulation. Research found that agaric contains nine substances that have the function of anticoagulation, similar to the onion and garlic. You can soak it in the water for a while and then cook it with ginger, sugar, vinegar and soy sauce.

Seventh, kelp: it prevents angiemphraxis. It is a soluble fiber which not only can accelerate the discharge of the cholesterol but also prevent arteriosclerosis. Kelp itself contains sodium and thus you can put less salt in cooking.

Eighth, celery: it can reduce the blood pressure. It contains some alkali which protects the heart and blood vessels. Usually, we throw away celery leaves when cooking. In fact, there is more vitamin C in leaves than in stems. You can choose fresh leaves and blanch them in boiled water. Then you can make a salad of celery leaves.

Ninth, corn and corn stigma: both can reduce the blood pressure, especially the corn stigma. You can cook corn porridge and corn stigma tea.

Most modern people have heavy and fancy diets, plus the irregular lifestyle, and thus more and more people are likely to have a weak heart and get cardiovascular disease. Therefore, we should pay more attention to our diets so as to regain a healthy heart.
